Shipping Survey
over 7 years ago – Tue, Aug 30, 2016 at 10:09:26 PM

--------------------------------------

Dear Lovely Backers,

Important update: On September 2nd (Johnny's Birthday) we shall send you NovelTeas' BackerKit survey. Please keep an eye out for the email.

Why is BackerKit handling the shipping and post-campaign survey?

We pay for BackerKit because it dramatically reduces the delivery and shipping costs and also gives you a chance to purchase some final goodies at a great price if there is anything you'd like to "add on".

You can pick up extra tea, tins and even collectibles, like the necklaces from Authored Adornments or the signed reproductions by our amazing artists.

The Kickstarter funding has landed in our accounts and we've begun the machine tooling for your new tins. There will be more updates for you soon, including artwork! For now, here is a preview of the goldleaf figures that will be featured on Oliver Lemon Twist. They are made by artist, Lola Beltran from Bristol, UK and they show The Artful Dodger, Mr. Bumble, and Bill Sikes with his dog.

PS: One last time: Thank you Lauren, Jenni, Cher, Sue, Natalie, Lauren, Patricia, Rebecca, Darlene and Lindsey for backing and upgrading during the final 30 minutes and helping us get over that $60,000 hump! Thanks to you everyone gets author bookmarks to go with their tins!

Tea minus 21 hours: Bookmark Stretch Goal added!
over 7 years ago – Thu, Aug 11, 2016 at 09:40:43 PM

We're just blown away by all the support that is now pouring in from everywhere: We've raised over $2000 every day for the past three days! And it's all thanks to the increased sharing of the campaign by awesome backers like you! Thank you everyone!

Tea-Loving Author Bookmarks

So we've put together a reward for everyone if we reach $60K on this final day. What seemed impossible only two days ago is now very much within reach. If we can raise $60K every tea tin in the British Collection will come with a 2x6 bookmark featuring your favorite British Authors.

Each bookmark is illustrated by Lily Jones (Pride and Peppermint). We've placed our own quotes on the authors, but if you have a suggestion we'd love to hear it! If we reach $60K and use your suggestion we'll include lots of extra bookmarks in your shipment.

How could we possibly reach $60K?

In addition to the added visibility on Kickstarter due to less than 24 hours left there's strength in numbers. We're now over 800 backers strong. If each of you shared the Kickstarter with a bookloving friend we'd be done in an hour. In the 30 minutes it took to write this email we've raised $300 thanks to new backers. Below are our most popular banners that we recommend using if you share the campaign.

Retailer Highlight: Wyng'd Lyon Creations

Our final update of this campaign goes to Colleen at Wyng'd Lyon Creations in San Diego, CA. Collen's now supported both our campaigns and for that we're forever grateful! Grab one of our tins or an extraordinary trinket from her if you're visiting a convention in California this fall. Full event schedule.

PS: We had another tea-lover try our Pride and Peppermint blend. Kendal's been one of our strongest support in social media over the past month. She's an eternal Austenite, so we shipped her our last sample. Here's what Kendal had to say about her experience:

"The chamomile to peppermint ratio is very almost perfect and the tea is a beautiful colour once brewed. I found the taste very delicate and crisp and with a beautifully refreshing scent everytime I lifted my cup. I could pick no single fault with the blend as it is. It's perfect for my British palette. I'm especially impressed with how the peppermint is so gentle. In most peppermint tea blends I've perused, you get an awful strong taste of peppermint left in your mouth after finishing the drink and it's not nice at all. Your blend is so delicate and light that that doesn't happen. I definitely need more of this tea." - Kendal

Tea Minus Three Days: Pride, Peppermint and Prospective Puns

Happy National Book Lovers Day!

With just 2% to go and 3 days left, we're putting all hands on deck to get us over the finish line and beyond. Meeting our minimum goal is great, but every additional dollar gives us more room to improve.

What we haven't talked much about during the Kickstarter is what the new tin mold means for our growing library. Producing the tins come with several high costs, but the production of the original tin mold is one of the biggest money sinks. Once it's made though, additional tins are much cheaper to make. Which means we'll be able to expand the library faster than last time!

Prospective puns!

So like last time, we'd like to invite you to suggest your favorite puns below in the comments. This very Kickstarter was very much thanks to your passion for puns in the original campaign and we'd love to be back in the future with a new collection. Should we do 'The Old Man and the Tea?' or 'Crime and PunishMint'? Let us know.

Pride and Peppermint Tea Review

We had the chance to send out a few bagged samples and Just Commonly, the blog put together a wonderful review of the tea. Spoiler alert; not a peppermint fan. Did we win her over? Find out.

We're in fashion now!

And we couldn't end this update without mentioning Sarah Strauss' wonderful blog post where she let our tea tins inspire her latest style tips. Read more.

Tea minus six days: Picture yourself owning the picture of The Picture of Earl Grey
over 7 years ago – Sat, Aug 06, 2016 at 05:27:59 PM

Less than six days left and we have only 9% left to reach our minimum goal. We know we can do this! Especially thanks to your generous upgrades to include Elizabeth Bennet necklaces and the Unabridged Collection. And we have great news: Another book store is bringing NovelTea Tins to their shelves. Scroll down to find out if it's one near you.

Own a piece of NovelTeas history

But first; Did you know we're offering the original artworks from our tea tins for sale? Through this Kickstarter and the last we've sold 3 of 6 already and their owners have stunningly displayed them alongside other artwork and book collections.

These are one-of-a-kind art pieces, hand created by our independent illustrators. Purchasing an original art piece comes with all seven tins from the Unabridged Collection. Of the money raised in selling the artwork, one third goes directly to the artist and the rest towards helping our production goal for The British Collection Tins.
